Aguas Vivas Coordinator / Resources Manager

My hope is to leave a good and meaningful legacy behind when I leave earth. Much of that legacy will come, I believe, through the work I have done as a part of Desert Stream Ministries and being in the Living Waters community. In this work, I am privileged to witness Jesus transforming people through His healing word and His healing community.

When I was 20 years old, I was gay/trans-identified, living as though I was a woman.  I was at the end of myself and I needed an intervention. Jesus began to draw me with tender mercy and loving-kindness. He began to encounter me through the love and care of a church community called Abundant Grace Community Church in Edinburg, TX. I remember the night I experienced the love of Christ and conviction of my sin. This was the moment of my conversion and I began to follow Jesus.

I was led to Kansas City in January of 2007. I moved here after learning that a vibrant healing community existed, empowered to go deeper in my healing journey and fight for the more that God had for me. In Kansas City, I attended Bible School and the Cross-Current and Living Waters programs. I then became a part of the Living Waters leadership team, serving under Tracey Bickle for 7 years. Over a process of time, I began to see and embrace my vocation as a ‘wounded healer.’

In June of 2015 I was accepted as a Desert Stream intern and I began to grow and thrive in my role as a servant-leader.  After my one-year internship I was honored to be hired as a full-time staff member at Desert Stream.

Currently, I am the Coordinator of Aguas Vivas (Living Waters) in Latin-America. I have a heart to expand the Spanish-speaking groups in the U.S. and Internationally.  I am also the Resources Coordinator and find it a joy to make sure people get the help and healing they need through the resources we provide.

I am a member at Christ Church Anglican in Mission, Kansas– a church whose mission statement is to ‘be a people fully alive in God’s kingdom.’ This resonates with my heart and I have the privilege of coordinating a Living Waters group there. I love being a member of this community and serving in this local church body. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, dancing, and painting.
